Your numbers have context
Understand what your labs mean for everyday eating.
Heart-health advice can feel like a long list of foods to avoid. We start with your laboratory results, blood pressure, medical history, medications, eating patterns, preferences and routines. Then we focus on the changes most likely to be useful and realistic for you.
- LDL and non-HDL cholesterolExplore food patterns that support healthier cholesterol levels without reducing your diet to a single nutrient.
- TriglyceridesConsider meal timing, carbohydrate quality, alcohol, activity and other factors that may affect your results.
- High blood pressureDevelop practical sodium strategies while protecting flavor, culture and enjoyment.
- Fiber and food qualityFind workable ways to include soluble fiber, produce, legumes, whole grains and other heart-supportive foods.
- Overlapping concernsConnect heart health with glucose, appetite, weight and other cardiometabolic priorities when they occur together.
From advice to action
A heart-healthy pattern should still feel like your food.
Rather than handing you a perfect menu, we help you build a flexible approach for groceries, home meals, restaurants, travel and busy weeks.
We can work with you on:
- Choosing fats and proteins that support your goals
- Increasing fiber gradually and comfortably
- Reducing sodium without making food bland
- Planning balanced meals and snacks
- Reading labels without becoming overwhelmed
- Preparing for follow-up labs and medical visits

Common questions
Heart-health nutrition FAQ
Can nutrition counseling help lower cholesterol?
Food patterns can support healthier cholesterol levels, but individual response varies. We use your labs, medical history and treatment plan to guide realistic nutrition changes, while your medical clinician remains responsible for diagnosis and medication decisions.
Do you work with high blood pressure?
Yes. Counseling may address sodium, meal patterns, restaurant choices and other nutrition factors relevant to blood-pressure goals. Recommendations are individualized, particularly when kidney conditions or medications affect nutrient needs.
Can you coordinate with my physician or cardiologist?
Yes, with your authorization. Nutrition counseling is designed to complement the medical plan established by the clinicians managing your care.
Will insurance cover heart-health nutrition counseling?
Many plans include medical nutrition therapy benefits, but coverage depends on your diagnosis and policy. Review our insurance guide and confirm benefits with the member-services number on your card.
Can I meet by telehealth?
