A broader view

Weight is one part of metabolic health.

You are more than a number on a scale. We consider your medical history, laboratory results, medications, appetite, sleep, movement, food access, preferences and prior experiences with dieting. The goal is a practical nutrition strategy that supports health without making food take over your life.

  • Weight managementDevelop realistic eating patterns without relying on rigid rules or an all-or-nothing plan.
  • Insulin resistance and prediabetesConnect meal patterns, carbohydrate choices and daily routines with glucose goals. Learn about diabetes and prediabetes nutrition care.
  • Cholesterol and blood pressureUse food and lifestyle strategies to support long-term cardiometabolic health. Read about heart-health nutrition counseling.
  • Polycystic ovary syndromeAddress nutrition questions that may overlap with insulin resistance, appetite and weight concerns.
  • After repeated dietingMove toward a more sustainable approach when restrictive plans have not held up over time.

Nutrition support with GLP-1 treatment

Medication may change appetite. Your body still needs nourishment.

When a prescribing clinician has recommended a GLP-1 or GIP/GLP-1 medication such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, nutrition counseling can help you adapt meals to changing appetite and tolerance.

We can work with you on:

  • Meeting protein and energy needs when appetite is lower
  • Meal size, timing, hydration and fiber
  • Nutrition strategies for common gastrointestinal concerns
  • Supporting muscle and bone health alongside appropriate movement
  • Planning for travel, restaurants, plateaus and changing routines
  • Maintaining useful habits if your medication plan changes
Clear scope: Keatley Nutrition does not prescribe GLP-1 medications or change your dose. Medication decisions and concerning or persistent symptoms should be discussed with the clinician who prescribes your treatment.

Yes. We can help you plan meals around changing appetite and tolerance, work toward adequate protein, fiber, fluid and energy intake, and build habits that complement the treatment plan set by your prescriber.

Is this only for people trying to lose weight?

No. Metabolic health nutrition counseling may also address insulin resistance, prediabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, PCOS, appetite changes and the effects of repeated dieting.
